foster is a very loyal and forgiving man. he has always tried his best to make others proud, maybe even more than himself. during his test, he was divergent. he figured that was a terrible thing and tried his best to fit in wherever he went. foster never wanted to seem like the oddball out, he loved being a part of something big or small, something that had a meaning and potential. foster is definitely overconfident in himself, even if he is rather selfless at times. his arrogance shines through no matter what. having chosen erudite at the age of sixteen, foster yearned knowledge and more intelligence. he wants to make a difference in their society. foster is not only strong mentally, but physically too. he has a wonderful ability to learn fast and give great results. on an average day, his arrogance blends him in with the rest, but his mild humor and want to make another's day better than his own takes the spotlight. he is a very realistic young man and all about the facts, getting him to think out of the box would take a lot more than you think. he also has a tendency to give up or lose track of options. this flaw bothers him deeply and keeps him down and faithless in everything he has worked toward. it takes a bit to bring foster back on his feet.

growing up in candor was a real task. foster was a great liar until his parents cracked the whip and he had to adjust his younger brain to acquire the honesty of his home faction. it was difficult for foster, but he learned rather quickly to accept it. his parents figured right away that their only son was different. he had the natural traits of each faction and many more that hadn't even existed, he was unique, he was divergent. his parents knew of this long ago, when susan's own mother was a divergent. foster was frightened at the fact that he was divergent after his test. it gave him a hard time deciding, but eventually he chose to leave his dear parents and try and succeed in erudite, where he hoped he could find answers and possibly make a difference. his parents knew he would do well in erudite, so they didn't question after the ceremony. he was following the only dream they knew about. after three years in erudite, foster grew some more knowledge, however he was only working as a librarian now. for some odd reason he wasn't progressing and he must find out why.
