they call me Alera and i am 16 years old. they say i resemble a vampire, I guess I could agree, but that's not my fault.

I have a strong personality and hate to listen to those in charge. I am a good leader, but a bad follower. I am agile and don't boast although I do show off. I can be scary but when you get to know me, let's just say you become a wanted weakness. I do my best to protect others and the innocent. I spend my time outdoors and hate beds. I prefer the forest.

I was born in a lab, or rather made in a lab. I was a failed experiment that the Erudite never gave up on. I was made as a battery, I wasn't alone. 12 of us were made. I know none of them, apart from me and one other. I spent my years in abnegation and on choosing day, my results were inconclusive. They said I was divergent and handed me over to the Erudite. Only my results were not. The erudite just wanted me back. I was locked in a cell for 3 weeks, before they tested on me. A boy about 16 years old was brought in and put in the cell next to me. He was like me. He promised to get me out. The next day the Erudite put some chemical into my leg that caused it to break and gave me great pain, I was senseless by the time he came to save me. He carried me out, but I got shot in my broken leg. I passed out and woke in a safe Haven that they called Haver. They fixed my leg and told me about a machine that could change my identity. I was called Sephy. I changed it to Alera and the machine managed to erase my looks and most of my fears. My blonde hair changed to a tinted and highlighted black hair with red highlights. My blue eyes turned black with highlighted pupils and black and white Iris. I was safe for a time, until the Erudite attacked. They took the boy I later found out to be called Li. I must find him...
